About UYIR

Road Safety is not only the shared concern but also the shared responsibility of the Government and a range of civil society stakeholders including Industries Media, NGOs and every common man in the society. “Uyir” is a Non-Governmental Organization, registered under Trust Act on 7th Day of March’2018, with the mission of making Coimbatore an accident free Society and formed by the Industrialists and well-known like-minded people of Coimbatore.

Vision

To render Coimbatore as a zero – accident city and a model city in road safety.

Mission

To initiate and support people’s movement for road safety such that citizens feel responsible for the lives and safety of all on the roads.
To collaborate with the Government and other NGOs to make Coimbatore the city with the safest roads in the country.

UYIR Club- KCLAS

Without community volunteering we would not have a strong quality of life. UYIR Club- KCLAS formed in July, 2019 with 90 volunteers, helps to enhance the road discipline among the General Public of Coimbatore City. The UYIR Club volunteers from KCLAS, act as the medium through which the road safety education is disseminated to the society. The volunteers learn the road safety rules and practice them for their safety and also for the fellow beings. A trained student volunteer knows the dangers of the road and by his conduct prevents accidents as he has a commitment to the society.

The objectives of UYIR Club- KCLAS are:

To educate road users about traffic rules, traffic regulations and related matters.
To assist in the enforcement of traffic rules.
To undertake all required activities for ensuring safety of the users on road.

Our Key focus is to create the awareness among people that “Road Safety” is not just an idea or concept it is a discipline, a pledge each one of us should take to make our roads safe to travel.
