This paper focuses on the importance of solidarity between gender non-confirming children with their parents, teachers, and friends. Through the emotions and conversations of Melissa in the novel George by Alex Gino, the paper aims to motivate the readers to create an inclusive environment for their transgender friends and peers. The major hurdle faced by the transgender children before transition is the coming-out process. This article emphasizes on creating a safe space so that the transgender children can be protected from both physical and mental trauma. The study is validated through Lawrence Kholberg’s Theory of Moral Development.
