Ms. Sanju T. participated in a four-day Faculty Development Program on Psychological Skills for Teaching Professionals organized by the Dept. of Psychology of Holy Cross College, Tiruchirappalli, from 16.02.2022 to 19.02.2022.
Boomika S of IIIrd Year, completed a one-month online internship in Clinical Psychology, organized by IMHAPS. During the training, she learned about the nuances of taking case histories, Mental Status Examinations, and the variables to consider before giving a diagnosis. She also gained knowledge about the various mental disorders under the DSM.
Ilakkiya of IInd Year, wrote a poem titled ‘Guilt // Anxiety’.
“Haul Out the Holly” was organized on 24th of December 2021 by Mirudhula D. from BSc. Psychology III, Shreedevi from BSc. Psychology II and Santhiya from BSc. Psychology I, to create awareness about holiday blues among the students. Holiday blues are feelings of sadness that often last throughout the holiday season, generally during November and December. This online event began with interesting ice breaker-games such as ‘Connect and Find the Tourist Spots’ to engage the audience. The meaning of holiday blues, its symptoms, and treatment were shared during the event with around 40 participants.
Kaaviyadharshana S.S., Sowmida M.S., Abishna A.G., and Aswathi G., of BSc. Psychology III completed their internship at SPARRC Institute in Alwarpet, Chennai. During the training, from 13.12.2021 to 29.12.2021, they were exposed to the field of Sports Psychology and the work of professionals in the field. They also gained knowledge about rehabilitation and consultation in the field of sports psychology.
Sruthi S. from BSc. Psychology III completed her internship at Cognito Academy, Coimbatore, a school for slow learners from 14.12.2021 to 31.12.2021. During the period she gained knowledge through case studies and by observing psychological assessments and engaging in remedial teaching methods.
