Department of Commerce organised a Workshop on Factories Act and Industrial Dispute Act – A Case Analysis for II B.Com PA students on 02/08/2019. The Resource persons were Lr. S. Senthilkumar, Advocate cum Trademark Attorney, Coimbatore and Mr. S. P. Vivek, Lawyer. He is from village background from an Agricultural family. After gruduation, he completed ACS(inter) in The Institute Of Company Secretaries Of India in the year 2014. He is very much interested in Law, he graduated BL in Dr. Ambedkar Law University in the year 2015 and also completed a course AIBE by All India Bar council in the year 2015. Past seven years he was undertaking the Special legal awareness programme in all legal titles.
He was handling the Special Public Prosecution for Q-Branch, CBCID Police. He was expert in preparation and filing of suit before Courts (Civil, Criminal, Corporate, Labor, MCOP And Family Matters) and advising on choice of Trademarks, Brands, Slogans, Trade Names And Classes of goods and service in which they can be registered. His firm is doyen in the field of Intellectual Property Right (IPR).
The Workshop started with a welcome address and Introduction of Guest by Ms. U. S. Nivetha II B.Com PA. Guest speaker started the workshop with the introduction of factories act and explained the business activities which are under Industrial Dispute Act. He discussed the role of arbitrator by giving example as Umpire. Four cases were analyzed. One case was demonstrated and explained by Lr. S. Senthilkumar and Mr. S. P. Vivek. Students were grouped into two, one group as a petitioner and other as a respondent. They argued the case and proved each other according to their expertise. This workshop is an informative guide to the practical aspects of factories and industrial disputes act in India. By providing practical cases and analyzing it, it helps the students to learn how to handle the disputes , solve the grievances and functioning of the factories according to the act. The Workshop was knowledgeable and useful to the students. The session was closed with a vote of thanks by Ms. S. Nakshathira of II B.Com PA.
