Department of Political science has organized a Panchayat study visit to Keeranatham on 29/02/2020, to interact and communicate with the panchayat president Mr. Palanisamy to know about the proceedings of the panchayat. We had an opportunity to interact with honourable member of Parliament Mr. P.R.Natarajan who came to inaugurate the medical camp initiated by the MP and the panchayat.
The authorities had briefed us about the importance of maintaining good health. They emphasised more on the prevention measures for dengue and they also explained about the subsidies allocated by the central government to take medical services for the rural poor. We had a separate session with the member of parliament after the inaugural function of the medical camp. Students were able to speak freely and interact with him about political ideologies and the present governmental schemes for the development of the society. We also spoke about the participation of the youth in the politics and the effective political ways by which youth can be of a valuable resource for CHANGE. He had stressed on the fact that youngsters should come forward to do the change and should make the economy grow in sustainable manner.
