The Department of Social Work of Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS) organized an orientation visit to “SEESHA” for the 1st year MSW Students on 8th August, 2019. SEESHA – Samiti for Education, Environment, Social and Health Action is a non-profit organization that works towards empowering underprivileged communities across several states in India. Dr. Emmanuel Daniel, Faculty of Social Work guided and accompanied the students for this orientation visit.
Mrs. Teerza, gave a brief overview about the organization followed by Dr. Sheela Daniel. S who explained various institutes, projects and initiatives of the organization in SEESHA’s Center for Wellbeing. Mr. Joseph Johnson briefed about the Old Age Home and Rehabilitation Center, upcoming projects and more. Mr. Arun explained about various activities and contributions of SEESHA at times of disaster.The students had an interactive session. Then the students were taken to, SEESHA Karunya Community Hospital where Dr. Sheela showed various departments of the hospital, facilities and various services provided to the people. The students also got an opportunity to visit SEESHA Old Age Home and SEESHA Rehabilitation center to understand various activities and lives of people residing there.
