Guest Talk on Global Measures to Safeguard the Employees - Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts & Science (KCLAS)

Department of Commerce organised a Guest Talk on Global Measures to Safeguard the Employees for II B.Com PA students on 10/10/2019. The Resource person was Mrs. G. Vanisree, Business Consultant, Learning and Development Professional, Coimbatore. She comes with around 20 years of experience across industries such as Telecom, Gem and Jewellery, Dairy, FMCG, Manufacturing, Services, Agrobased, Textiles and Business Consulting. Her latest engagement as an employee was with ABT Foods of the Sakthi Group as Head, HR.

She has also held key roles with Dimexon Diamonds Ltd and MTNL, Mumbai. She has trained more than 2000 employees from organizations across multiple nations and across India. She is also a certified HR Business Partner, Thomas Assessment Professional, Psychological Counsellor, Lead Auditor for ISO and a specialist in Industrial Relations. She believes in continuous learning and is passionate about bringing in a positive difference to people’s lives.

The session started with a welcome address and Introduction of the Guest by Ms. Sreeyantha .C.R of II B.Com PA. Guest speaker started the session with introduction of employment safety. She explained International Labour Organization, International Labour Standards and their Benefits. She further discussed basic principles and rights at work. She explains some major problems and measures taken to safeguard the employees such as to promote rights at work, encourage decent employment opportunities, enhance social protection and strengthen dialogue on work-related issues.

She has quoted examples of India, Singapore, Canada, UAE and China. She elaborately explains the measures taken in each country. Overall the session was very useful to the students. The session was closed with a vote thanks by Mr. M. Surendaran of II B.Com.PA.
