An International Guest talk on “Global Business Economy” was organised by the Department of Management on 21st August 2019 at Sir CV Raman Hall, Kumaraguru Campus. The Guest Dr.Badri Narayanan Gopalakrishnan is an affiliate faculty member and economist with School of Environmental and Forestry Sciences, University of Washington – Seattle. He is also currently associated with McKinsey and Company, since 2015, as a consulting economist. Furthermore he co-founded Infinite-Sum Modeling Inc., with offices in Canada, USA, India and China.
The guest took the audience through the changes happening in the industry with respect to the changes in the economic policies. The concepts of trade war and its implications on the economic policies of USA, India, China and other countries helped students to get an overview of prevailing global business conditions. He urged the business students to grab the opportunities available for Indian business men that arises due to trade war between USA and China. He explained that the industrial revolution should go hand in hand with infrastructural developments of a country.
The guest discussed the developments happening in the 4th industrial revolution Business 4.0 and urged students to get to know the concept of block chain, internet of things, crypto currency, robotics, etc., When a question of possibility of economic recession was raised by audience he explained that the recession will be mild and will change the way the businesses are done. He triggered the young minds and answered all their thought provoking questions clearly. Students of BBA, I BA Political Science and faculty members from KCLAS, KCT Business School and KCT attended the program.
