Department of Management has organised a Workshop on ‘Behavioural Economics’ for first year BBA students on February 12, 2020 between 11 am to 1 pm at KCLAS Seminar Hall. Dr.A.Sangamithra, Professor, Department of Economics, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore was the resource person. I BBA and I B.Com students were the participants of the Workshop. The session started with the Welcome address by Ms.S.Rajasri of I BBA. The workshop started with the concept of Economics. She has explained the concept of economics with the live examples. She has explained about the importance of psychology, logical reasoning in the present day with live examples. She has also explained the success story of various businesses who were successful due to the psychology and logical reasoning of the customers and linked the concept of economics with it. The speaker has well explained the concept of Behavioural Economics with various interesting examples and pictures. Further the speaker highlighted the applications of behavioural economics in business firms. She has highlighted the success of various firms due to the application of behavioural economics like Ramraj. She has also given some examples where the firm was not successful due to lack of behavioural economics applications. The resource person explained the importance of behavioural economics concept in business with lot of examples All the participants were highly interactive in the session. The talk helped the students in understanding various concepts in a better way. The event was concluded with vote of thanks by Mr.V.S.Nithish of I BBA.
