The KCLAS Interdisciplinary Perspectives
The Uyir club of Coimbatore city conducted a certification training program for Road safety and volunteering for the students on 7th September, 2019 at Kumaraguru Campus, Coimbatore.
Uyir is formed as a people initiative to create a Coimbatore free from road accidents. Initiative such as ‘kutti cops’ where in school students will educate parents, relatives and friends on traffic rules. Among the various initiatives planned by Uyir to promote road safety awareness among the public.
Dr. S. Chandrasekar, Corporate Director, Roots Group was the guest of honour. Dr. L. Balaji Saravanan, DCP (Law & Order), Coimbatore City and Mr. C Kodiselvan ACP (Traffic East), Coimbatore City were the resource persons for the training program.
Students from Kumaraguru College of liberal Arts and Science, Kumaraguru College of Technology, Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, SNS College of Engineering and Ganga Nursing College participated in the training program. Around 450 students participated in the program and enriched their knowledge about road safety and each student were provided a licence for volunteering in the traffic signals.
