Introduction
Ms. Poovarasi completed her B.Sc. in Psychology from Women’s Christian College, Chennai, and her Master’s in Clinical Psychologyfrom Saveetha Medical College, Chennai. She gained six months of experience as an Assistant Psychologist in a multispecialty hospital. She has cleared NETand completed her M.Phil. in Clinical Psychologyat the National Institute for Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (NIEPMD). During her M.Phil., she was elected as the student representative on the ICC committee against sexual harassment. She is currently an RCI-licensed Clinical Psychologist.
Achievements and Activities
- Presented a case study on Hypochondriasis at PSG Arts and Science College, Coimbatore.
- M.Phil. Thesis: Effect of Cognitive Intrinsic Motivation on Social Inhibition and Perceived Social Support among Children with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD).
- M.Sc. Thesis: A study on the effects of Caffeine use on Selective Attention and Logical Reasoning among young adults.
Vision
To start a Rehabilitation Centre for the Underpriviledged.
