On June 19, 2024, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science (KCLAS) hosted a welcome back program at the Ramanandha Adigalar Auditorium to reconnect students and faculty for the upcoming academic year 2024-25. The event began with a prayer song performed by Asita Pon Divya and Srinika Lokeshwari, followed by a welcome address from Dr. Sheela Srivastava, Associate Director of the Office of Student Affairs, setting a positive tone for the day.
Prasanna Rahini, Partner & COO of Pavai Infra Geotech, shared her inspirational journey, motivating students to overcome challenges and strive for success. Teams Sea Shakthi and Renew briefed the audience on their upcoming sail and shared their journey so far, emphasizing the importance of experiential learning.
Ms. Dharani M., Assistant Professor in the School of Psychology, discussed psychological well-being and personal growth, providing strategies for maintaining mental health. Mr. Rajmohan S., Associate Dean of the School of Sports Science, highlighted the significance of physical fitness for youth and shared practical tips for staying active.
Dr. Vijila Edwin Kennedy, Principal of KCLAS, addressed student feedback in the “You Said, We Did” session, demonstrating the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement. Mr. Saravanan C., Associate Vice President of Microcosm, spoke about sustainability practices and industry expectations, preparing students for future career demands. Dr. Priyadarshini A., from the School of Management, introduced the Liberal Edge approach, highlighting its role in enhancing academic and career prospects.
The program included a session by Mr. Saravanan M.K., Inspector of Police, Saravanampatti, on anti-ragging and drug awareness among students. This was followed by departmental sessions post lunch, which focused on the department annual plan, code of conduct, DA roles, and portfolio building, ensuring students have a comprehensive understanding of departmental goals and expectations for the academic year.
