The UPSC Civil Services refer to the career of civil servants who form the permanent executive wing of the Republic of India. The recruitment for this class of officers is done by the UPSC – Union Public Service Commission. The civil service system is the backbone of the administrative machinery of the country. Indian civil servants enjoy immense respect in our society. Be it IPS or IAS, these officers go through rounds of tricky exams, mental and physical screenings, and rigorous training, so that they may be entrusted with overseeing our society’s functioning. Educational Qualification
UPSC does not discriminate against candidates based on their scores in graduation. Hence, there is no minimum qualifying percentage as the IAS eligibility condition. The UPSC eligibility conditions for the UPSC exam concerning educational qualification is given below:
- The candidate must hold a graduation degree from a government-recognized university.
- In their final year or awaiting results, candidates are also eligible to appear for UPSC preliminary Examination.
