International Theatre Festival of Kerala, ITFoK 2020, Thrissur on 27 & 28 January, 2020
Department of English organised a two-day study visit to International Theatre Festival of Kerala, ITFoK 2020, Trissur on 27th and 28th January, 2020. On the first day of the visit, students watched an International Play ‘The Director’, a national play ‘Chahetha’ and a Performance Poetry. The students had an experience of watching live theatre performance of professional International artists and also national theatre performers. They also understood how a Poetry can be performed using musical instruments
On the second day of the visit, the students went to St.Thomas College of Arts and Science, Trissur, an educational institution in Kerala which is 132 years old. They interacted with Dr.Joy, the Principal of the college. Dr.Anto Thomas, delivered a lecture to the students on ‘Feminist Theory and Children’s Literature’. He gave a detailed Comparative analysis of Feminist and Children’s Literature’.
The students visited the Basilica of Our Lady of Dolours, one of the biggest and oldest churches in Trissur. The Holy Bible was displayed in different languages in the Bible tower. The paintings and art work depicting the story of Jesus Christ were mesmerizing.
